Our LaRonde mine is located approximately 60 kilometres west of Val D’Or in the Abitibi-Temiscamingue region of Northwestern Quebec and employs approximately 730 people. The 7,200-tonne-per-day mine is expected to produce approximately 290,000ounces of gold annually through 2015, and mine life lasting through 2023. LaRonde has an estimated 4.8 million ounces of gold in proven and probable reserves,which are among the largest gold reserves for any operating mine in Canada.

Summary Under the supervision of Geologist Superintendent, the Exploration Geologist is in charge of carrying out exploration and development work on the property, such as drilling planning, core logging, data collection and resource evaluation.
Responsibilities • He/she might also be asked to make geological mapping of underground infrastructures.
Qualifications • The ideal candidate has a degree in geology or geological engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in exploration or in mining geology;
• He/she must also be a member of a recognized professional body;
• The candidate must be comfortable monitoring surface and underground drilling programs and must have good team work skills as well as good written and oral communication skills;
• Bilingualism is an asset.
