Our Meadowbank mine is located in Nunavut Territory of Canada 70 kilometers north of Baker Lake and contains almost 3.5 million ounces of gold reserves. The mine is the first operating gold mine in the history of Nunavut, and is already our largest producer, generating 265,659 ounces of gold in its first year and employing about 500 people.The mine is expected to produce, on average, 297,000 ounces of gold per year throughout the life of mine, estimated to be through 2019.

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the entitled person is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the Meadowbank division

  • Develop a local recruiting plan
  • Employ traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas
  • Ensure that the best talent is hired
  • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position
  • Work with managers on developing recruitment strategies and planning and conduct regular follow up on them
  • Conduct prescreening and regular interviews 
  • Assist in job posting, references and background check
  • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates and make research to recommand new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting  
  • Minimum experience of ten (10) to fifteeen (15) years in human resources management with significant experience in recruitment
  • Good organizational and time management as well as excellent communication skills
  • Be fluent in both French and English
  • Must be able to travel regularly to the mine site, the administative office in Val-d'Or (Qc) and in places where candidates are available
  • Experience working in the Mining industry will be considered an important asset
